As the first Level II Verified Trauma Center, St. Mary’s is proud to also be a leader in the efforts to prevent trauma and injury.  In March of 2011, St. Mary’s was again awarded verification as a Level II Adult Trauma Center by The American College of Surgeons (ACS) Committee on Trauma (COT).  In 2009, St. Mary’s was the first hospital in the Evansville, Indiana tri-state area to become a Level II Pediatric Trauma Center.

Continuing this recognized excellence of care, St. Mary’s Rehab Institute (located on the Evansville, Indiana medical center main campus) has achieved accreditation by the  Committee on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) every year since 1986.  Achieving accreditation requires a service provider to meet extensive standards of care, commit to quality improvement and place its focus on the unique needs and results of services for each of the persons the provider serves.
