First certified horticultural operation dedicated to vegetable transplants production

ARROYO GRANDE, CA – Greenheart Farms® announced that it has met the stringent requirements to earn VeriFlora® certification for sustainability in the growing process. Recognized as the gold-standard in the floriculture and horticulture industries, VeriFlora® certification requires growers to meet strict sustainable agriculture standards including water conservation, energy efficiency, ecosystem protection, and integrated waste management. In addition, growers must comply with fair labor practices that ensure a safe, equitable and healthy work environment, and industry-leading product quality requirements. Greenheart is also the first horticultural operation dedicated to vegetable transplants production to become VeriFlora® Certified.

Greenheart adds Schoneveld Genetics to its cyclamen lineup

New for Greenheart! Starting in July, Greenheart® will offer cyclamen varieties from Schoneveld. In recent years, our customers have been asking for Schoneveld genetics so we felt it was important to include them in our offerings. These varieties will be available as grown to order. Schoneveld is known for such series as Jive™ and Super Serie®, including XL, Allure, and Picasso. This addition is a great compliment to our full series selections from Syngenta Flowers-Goldsmith Seeds and Morel, including the new 2012 varieties.

New marketing ideas Greenheart Farms has developed for 2012 should get consumers excited about roses in their gardens, on their patios and in their homes.
Roses are about to get a lot more fun.
Greenheart Farms is ratcheting up its marketing a few notches for its My Bouquet,Garden Treasures and Table to Garden lines. Layci Gragnani, the ornamental marketing and sales director for Greenheart, spent much of last year designing programs to make its roses more saleable.
“Before, retailers didn’t know how to sell these programs,” says Bill DeVor, General Manager and Chief Operating Officer.
