The History of the District

The North Perry Avenue Water District was formed on November 24, 1942. The initial water system was established in 1944 by the formation and construction of Utility Local Improvement District (ULID) No.1. The original project consisted of construction of approximately 6.6 miles of water mains along Perry Avenue from Stoneway to Riddell and adjacent streets.

The District Today

North Perry Avenue Water District has grown in area from approximately 1 square mile in 1944 to 12 square miles today and now serves more than 7400 connections. Our service area encompasses several miles of shoreline to the East and extends 1 to 2 miles inland to the West. The District operates 10 production wells with a capacity of more than 5 million gallons per day and maintains more than 100 miles of pipeline.

OUR MISSION STATEMENT

The North Perry Avenue Water District is a nonprofit, special purpose district that provides water resource management within its service area to deliver a safe and reliable supply of high-quality water to meet present and future needs in an environmentally sensitive and economically responsible way.

David and Linda Eshraghi began with a single greenhouse to grow flowers. Now the 250 acre Eshraghi Nursery is celebrating its 20th anniversary. As a company we bring decades of experience from across the United States. We share our knowledge, skills, and proven methods to make our plant products superior when they are delivered to you.

Service

At Eshraghi Nursery, we have a passion for plants, and a desire to share our knowledge about our material. Our high quality service and attention to detail is appreciated by customers from fellow growers to retail nurseries across the United States and Canada. We treasure long term relationships and do our best to make each order exceptional, each customer content and overall relationships smooth, enjoyable and lucrative for all. Our sales team is always available to help you choose the best plants, whether during a tour, over the phone or at a trade show.

Selection

You will find that we possess a love of maples, a fondness for conifers, and interest in new plants of all kinds. Each year we produce a handful of new varieties to our selections because they have been proven performers. We do not introduce new plants to our line up easily, because we only want quality introductions, not flash-in-the-pan or overrated, over-marketed duds. We currently produce over 60 varieties of Japanese maples, selected for color, habit and unique characteristics. Our grafted specialty conifers, especially new Pines, Cedars and Chamaecyparis are increasing in quantity. We focus on outstanding color, better habit or improved survivability. Also, we offer consistent quality on the traditional, indispensible staple plants, such as Arborvitae, Azaleas, Boxwoods, Hydrangeas, Junipers, Spiraea, and Pines.

Quality

Quality is always a primary goal. We focus on superior cleanliness and orderliness, from grafting through field production and can yards. Our topiaries, spirals, poms and poodles are trimmed often by a few highly experienced team members to maintain the identical forms over the years. Additionally, we offer cedar boxes from 12” octagon (2 to 3’ plant) to 30” (8-10’ tree) for added presentation to attractive specimens, dwarf varieties or special growth forms.

You can expect to smile when you unload a truck full of Eshraghi Nursery plant material, our quality, service and selection will ensure that you do.

ASHTA Chemicals Inc. opened its corporate offices in Ashtabula, Ohio in 1992, although, under previous owners, this site has been operating since the early 1960’s. Since then, ASHTA management has taken a number of steps which positioned the company for profitable growth. These steps include the purchase of Olin’s potassium products business in 1993, designing and implementing a closed loop, zero discharge water treatment system for this Lake Erie site in 1994-5, and construction of a new potassium carbonate plant in 1995. In sales and marketing, our focus is on markets and products which provide sustained, profitable growth for our core potassium hydroxide chemistry. Additionally, our product distribution system was significantly expanded in 1998 to provide ample product in key chemical markets. From Ashtabula, we service our customers from two production sites, 13 liquid terminals, and 3 warehouses, strategically located in the United States and Canada.

ASHTA manufactured products are all around you, making your life safer, cleaner, brighter and easier.

The liquid form of our potassium hydroxide can be found in soaps, at municipal water treatment facilities, in deicers used at our airports, in alkaline batteries and in fertilizers, to name a few.

When dried into flake or compressed into briquettes, our potassium hydroxide finds uses in the bio-diesel industry, in the formulation of industrial and institutional cleaners and in the oil and gas industry as purifying agents.

Converted into either liquid or anhydrous potassium carbonates, our product finds its way into photo chemicals, agricultural chemicals, fertilizers, oil and gas drilling fluids, dairy feed supplements, specialty glass, detergents, food and pharmaceuticals.

With the addition of 1.6 million+ square feet of space, Switch is offering a key differentiator for the future of the data center industry: the campus ecosystem. SuperNAP-West is also home to a massive fiber gateway that includes North America’s largest telecom providers.

The increasing demands of the world’s most advanced companies requires the ability to grow without relocating or travelling to a different area of the country. This expansion sets Switch apart as the leading provider of the world’s most powerful data center environments.

With the expansion to 2,000,000+ square feet, the SuperNAP-West campus will deliver an unrivaled:

  • 500 MVA of power capacity

  • 567 MVA of generator capacity

  • 294 MVA of UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply)

  • 202,000 tons of cooling

  • 22,000,000 CFM (cubic feet per minute) of airflow

  • Over 31,000 cabinets

  • 24/7/365 on-site security, safety, operations, and critical infrastructure personnel

  • 500,000 square feet of additional on-net office space

For over a decade, Switch has been operating and designing the most forward looking colocation and technology services available. Switch’s patented WDMDTM (Wattage Density Modular Design) facilities deliver the most efficient, high-density, ultra-scale data centers in the industry.

Demand for Switch’s unique services is fueling the growth for the expansion. “Since acquiring the Enron Broadband arbitrage gateway, Switch has seen unprecedented demand for its integrated technology solutions,” said Switch CEO, Rob Roy. “The expansion of SuperNAP-West demonstrates our unique ability to facilitate client growth without current or future concerns around power, cooling, connectivity or space.”

About Switch

Switch delivers Truth in TechnologyTM. Switch has created a new model for technology delivery – a world-class telecommunications hub delivering the best cloud computing platforms from the most efficient, high density, ultra scale data centers, the Switch SuperNAPs. The patented SuperNAPs serve as the foundation for the U.S. Inter-Cloud Exchange (SwitchCloud ICETM) where the industry’s leading burst-ready computing platforms are accessed from a secured campus ecosystem. Since acquiring the Enron peering gateway, Switch created America’s leading communications gateway and the SwitchCORETM (Combined Order Retail Ecosystem). SwitchCORETM aggregates the combined buying power of its client base into one carrier-neutral purchasing consortium for an unmatched return on infrastructure investment for Switch customers. The sum of these parts is what Switch calls Truth in TechnologyTM – the best solutions intelligently integrated on the highest quality infrastructure.
