Blanchard Metals Processing Co. has purchased and installed a Model H2424 Ipsen Turbo Treater vacuum furnace with 6-Bar Quench capability with a work zone of 18″ x 14″ x 24″. The furnace is capable of 2400F. The furnace is equipped with a highly efficient all-graphite insulated hot-zone assembly with graphite heating elements in a 360 degree configuration, convection-assisted heating for reduced heat up times and vacuum tempering. It is controlled by an Ipsen compuvac control system with an operator interface 17″ touch panel monitor.

The furnace will be used for the Heat Treatment of all Tool Steels, Stainless alloys, and High Speed steels typically used in the aerospace and manufacturing industries.

Jewish Hospital’s Outpatient Care Center expanded in 2001 to include a new state-of-the-art Hand Care Center – the first in the U.S. The Center is the site of the world’s first successful human hand transplant with a total of six hand transplants to date, including Kentucky’s first double hand transplant.

Sts. Mary & Elizabeth Hospital (SMEH) is a 331-bed, full-service hospital, founded by the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth in 1874. SMEH offers a full range of orthopaedic, cardiac, medical imaging, surgical and emergency services, a wound healing center, sleep disorders center and has three medical plazas on campus to provide office space for a wide array of physicians representing a number of specialties.  Additionally, SMEH is home to Jewish Bariatric Care, the region’s only weight-loss management program utilizing the Lap-Band® System and The Women’s Center, a state-of-the-art diagnostic facility specifically for women.

Founded by the SCN’s in 1951, Our Lady of Peace is dedicated to treating individuals and their families with an array of 21 different psychiatric inpatient, outpatient and partial programs for patients with emotional, behavioral and psychiatric disorders and chemical dependencies. Approximately 75 percent of patients are children and adolescents with emotional and behavioral disorders or who have physical and developmental disabilities such as brain injury, autism, mental retardation and fetal alcohol syndrome. A team of psychiatrists, social workers, nurses, recreational therapists, play therapists and others strive each day to help patients regain their confidence, rebuild trust and develop the skills they need to function successfully in the world.

Jewish Hospital Shelbyville was founded in 1906 by the King’s Daughters and Sons Organization and purchased by Jewish Hospital & St. Mary’s HealthCare in 1992. The 70-bed hospital provides excellence in care to the residents of Shelby, Henry and Spencer counties. Located just 30 minutes east of downtown Louisville, it provides a full range of comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services.

In 2003, Jewish Hospital Medical Center East ushered in the next generation of health care in Louisville.  With a high-tech and patient-focused vision, the facility offers the most comprehensive technological enhancements available, distinguishing it from other outpatient facilities.

Jewish Hospital Medical Center South in Bullitt County is an outpatient surgical, diagnostic and comprehensive primary care center.  Opened in 2006, it offers 24-hour emergency services, diagnostic imaging and magnetic resonance imaging services and ambulatory surgical services.

In 2007, JHSMH brought about many new additions. The rise continued with the world-class Frazier Rehab and Neuroscience Center, a 15-story, 135-bed acute rehab hospital offering physical, occupational and speech therapies, therapeutic recreation and psychological and neuropsychological testing services in both inpatient and outpatient settings.  Comprehensive rehab programs, highly skilled therapists, state-of-the-art-facilities and innovative therapeutic techniques have earned Frazier Rehab Institute national recognition.

Jewish Hospital Medical Center Southwest opened in 2007, giving the residents of southwest Louisville access to an array of health services.  Services include a 24-hour emergency department and a full complement of diagnostic services, including digital mammography and diagnostic imaging. The facility also includes a satellite location of the world-renowned Frazier Rehab Institute.

To improve care for patients with advanced heart disease, Jewish Hospital partnered with U of L in 2007 to open the Cardiovascular Innovation Institute (CII). CII focuses on research, development, pre-clinical and clinical evaluation of bio-adaptive heart innovations and combination therapies including heart assist devices, gene therapies, biofeedback sensors and related technologies.

Jewish Hospital Medical Center Northeast (JHMCNE) opened in 2009 in the fast-growing, northeastern part of Jefferson County.  JHMCNE is an outpatient diagnostic/treatment and emergency care facility that also houses the Owsley Brown Frazier Cancer Center™.  Signature services at the facility include outpatient cancer services including radiation therapy, infusion/chemotherapy, PET/CT and support services.  JHMCNE provides patients a full range of diagnostic medical imaging services, laboratory services, 24/7 emergency care and Frazier Rehab outpatient services.  Primary care and specialty physician practices are also located at the facility.
